1. Introduction

At the moment my level of skill in the kitchen is very basic. The most complex meal I can cook is chilli. Hopefully this will all be changing very soon.

I want to learn how to cook properly for a few reasons. I have always been interested in cooking but until now I have not found the motivation to learn. I want to be healthier and eat a wider variety of food. Finally I enjoy a challenge and taking on new hobbies.

I am going to buy a recipe book as soon as I can get into town. I will also be using several recipe apps I have on my iPhone as a source for ideas. My family and friends are going to be my taste testers, especially Sian, so I will also be open to suggestions from them. I am going to be trying to make at least 2 dishes per week. I will probably make much more than 2 most weeks but I think 2 is a good standard to keep. The amount of free time I have varies week to week due to my life being devoid of routine. I'm sure I will manage 2 every week regardless how busy I am.

I am really excited to get start, I hope to look back at this first post and smile in wonder at how much I've learned.
